Premorbid Phase of Schizophrenia

The premorbid phase of schizophrenia refers to the period before a person first shows clear symptoms of the disorder. In retrospect, family members may recall that the individual was "a little unusual" or "different." For example, he or she may be unusually quiet, passive, or introverted and have few or no friends.
